Sniper elite 4 denuvo12/25/2023 All DRM is cracked relatively quickly these days, even Denuvo.Īfter 2 months or so it makes zero sense to still be using it (denovo). In any case I will be buying SE5 because I love ww2 stuff and stealth games, but its a very rare exception for me, I do recognize the fact however that no matter how much people complain about its inclusion, its up to the devs to choose what they want with their product and up to the consumer to choose if they buy it or not, this works in all types of markets, in my experience however the majority dont really care or even know about DRM stuff and just buy and play, so I think boycotting is kinda useless, I still do it whenever I can (havent bought an ubisoft/ea/activision game for 10 years now) but I do know its futile.Īnyways, this is my opinion on the matter, if anyone read it, I of course respect if anyone has a different viewpoint on this, hopefully you do as well, I hope rebellion reads this. I very rarely buy games with DRM these days, mostly indie (which are usually on GOG or DRM-Free on steam) mostly because most games released are not to my liking (ubisoft open-world stuff online focused games etc etc) the only exceptions I currently own is Doom Eternal (which I am certain, will be removed at some point in the future) and Sniper Elite 4 which I am hoping will have it removed, but its been a while. (~2 years or so) after the games last update they should remove it since the games "golden" age has past and there is nothing of value offered by it anymoreĮ.g Sniper Elite 4 doesnt really need it anymore.Ī lot of publishers do it like that (Bethesda/Squeenix) I understand the fear devs have with piracy but its my belief that it doesn't hurt sales, most people who pirate have no intention of spending money on the game so in the long run there is nothing to be gained but hurts legit consumers with the negatives of having an anti-tamper service like that running in the background (long-loading times etc etc)Ī good compromise and I think the least the devs could do is after a certain timeframe I have had a lot of bad experiences with DRM services in the past breaking games or not allowing me to launch the game at all (securom/starforce/tages/safedisk etc etc)ĭenuvo thus far to be fair is not the worst I have experienced, but I have had times where I got an error that I couldn't launch the game because "server not found" mostly when I played offline for long periods of time (when I'm serving overseas the luxury of internet is rare) Its one of the reasons my first choice of a store is GOG first and steam second when its a game I really want and there is not chance of it being DRM-Free. I am someone who will always support DRM-Free products simply because I like to own what I buy. Steam "LVL 0" promo accounts on a mission again, I guess. But even without that background, even without any knowledge of coding, it's an easy to understand topic. I actually studied computer science at an university. Tekken 5, (performance wrecked, president openly pissed about denuvo)īatman: Arkham Knight, (performance wrecked, removed)Įdit: Nope, not "crying" for no reason. TotalWar: Warhammer 3, (performance wrecked, ongoing issue) StarWars: Battlefront II, ( can't connect, can't play, denuvo servers)ĭOOM Eternal (unplayable after denuvo patch, got removed! Bethesda learned) Shadow of Tomb Raider, (sometimes can't play, denuvo servers) Guardians of the Galaxy, (sometimes can't play, denuvo servers) So Steam wants to lose costumers in the long run? Many games released on Epic-Store get denuvo removed for good reason. game costs more: denuvo needs to get paid too denuvo server issues: can't play the game you paid for (happens all the time) causes problems with OS and certain CPUs (e.g. is freaking Malware (antivirus software reacts) "As >Extreme Tech Let's use a police force that is mightier than the law of the state. You only cause stress and frustration to the people willing to buy your product. When will the Industry learn? To force "denuvo" on paying people is an insult. Using stealth, authentic weaponry, and your skilled marksmanship as an elite sniper, fight for the Italian Resistance in this exhilarating first-person shooter.I was waiting for this game so freaking long. About This Game One bullet can change the course of a war…
